Hmmmmmmmmm

So, yesterday was phenomenally unproductive.  Talked to a good writing buddy on the phone, and she had a wonderful suggestion to yesterday's conundrum.  I tried.  I really tried.  Nothing came of it though.  Today is my last day with a sitter until after the application to Hindman is due.  The decision has to be made; the writing has to be done; the revision has to be started.

My friend made a good comment yesterday.  We were discussing books that we have been reading that are good, but not great.  Writing that we know we could eclipse, and yet those people are published and we are not.  The difference between us she says, is that they FINISH!  It's a novel concept (pun fully intended).  All I have to do is not give up and finish.  Then I need to not give up and finish on some short stories and submit, submit, submit.

Finish and do not give up.  That is my mantra of the day.  How that is going to progress me toward having a manuscript ready to submit to Hindman is yet to be seen, but it is my mantra all the same.

Just keep writing; Just keep writing; Just keep writing.

  1. Well, I am trying to take my own advice to heart. I am sitting here procrastinating. Avoiding the thing I love to do most. Why? Why can't I just finish something?
